Pimples!!!

OMG, guys, I've got pimples. Like everywhere. They are little baby ones but they are finding strength in numbers!!! AAH!!! I dunno what to do!

See, I've never really had any acne problems or ever really gotten pimples (yeah, boo hoo me, I know) so now I am completely lost! And freaking out that I'm going to be a pimply mess on the wedding day! Of course stress is probably a factor, so freaking out doesn't help... but I'm freaking out.*

Should I find a cleanser? Figure out a new face routine? Go meditate? Buy foundation? (yeah, I don't own any) Call an exorcist? Or just eat this nummy chocolate that I happen to have in front of me...? We'll try the chocolate since its the closest possible solution to me at the moment.

Speaking of, have you ever had Chocolove XOXO num num bars? They are my FAV! I almost always have a dark chocolate and raspberries one stashed away. And not only are they delicious, but they come with super amazing love poems inside the wrapper! Its like a delicious lover serenading you and your taste buds at the same time!

Wanna read mine today? Here it is:

Meeting At Night

The grey sea and the long black land;
And the yellow half-moon large and low;
And the startled little waves that leap
In fiery ringlets from their sleep,
As I gain the cove with pushing prow,
And quench its speed i' the slushy sand.

Then a mile of warm sea-scented beach;
Three fields to cross till a farm appears;
A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch
And blue spurt of a lighted match,
And a voice less loud, through its joys and fears,
Than the two hearts beating each to each!

Robert Browning

Yeah, I don't really get it. But I love them because they are usually really cheezy and just plain epic sounding love poems! Hearts flutter and chests pound and yadda yadda epicness.

Well, I ate the entire bar. Heres hoping that is enough to clear up my pimple army!

Cheers,
Jen

*only mildly. I'm just being dramatic.

  1. i hate to say that chocolate is one of the enemies here, but it is. "chocolate doesn't give you pimples blah blah blah"- true. cacao doesn't. but you're not eating pure chocolate, you're having the rest of the crap in there too. go to clinique, describe whats going on, and they'll hook you up with a 3 step system. you'll be right as rain in a week. if you're brave you can self-diagnose on their website and order a kit. good luck!

  3. Treating pimples with chocolate might not be the best solution. But it's my fave.

    I'd start by trying a new cleanser with salicylic acid and using it morning and night. I use Neutrogena oil-free acne wash.

  4. What if...chocolate reduces stress which reduces pimples...? lol, jk
    Thanks for the advice...I'm going to go try to find a cleanser for me. Having that on hand will at least ease any pimple worries I may have.

  5. Haha! Chocolate reduces stress thus reducing pimples! Love it!

    Both Josh and I use Cetaphil regular face wash. He has oily skin and I have dry spots. So far it works for both of us.

    p.s. I took a peek at this post before bed last night and totally had the craziest pimply dream! Ah!

  6. Oh, i FEEL your pain.

    I had about a pimple a month, and finally a year or so ago decided I was DONE with having bad skin. i started to use philosophy skin care products and a weekly microdermabrasion and my skin started to look better and i broke out less and less. (their products are $)

    Cetaphil regular face wash is a good bet. And find yourself a moisturizer as well, if you aren't already using one. sometimes having skin be too dry can lead to more pimples. it's a vicious cycle. i'd say use a spot treatment as well, maybe on them at night. i like the clearasil 4 hour acne cream.

    and DON'T pick! i love love popping zits and it was the hardest thing to quit, but the best thing for my skin. i would pick baby pimples and they would turn into a big pimple (and might have just gone away on their own). i've learned to let them go and when they are really ready to be popped (huge whitehead), i use a sephora Blemish Extractor which gets out all the junk and doesn't leave a puffy mark. (and it's better than finger nails! they are dirty! )

    and i was a pimply mess on the wedding day. even after all my good work, my good diet of blueberries, kale, fish (which is good for the skin), i was still broken out. and of course, about 6 weeks later my skin is looking flawless.

    oil of olay has very good products, and if you are near a sephora, their staff are very knowledgeable about products and they many to choose from.

    AND (i'm almost done) you'll be beautiful no matter pimples or not !!!

  7. The pimple art is hilarious! I saw the title of the post, looked at the image, looked back at the title, then read to the end and just started giggling.

    Anyway, good for you for taking the Presence of Pimples (band name, anyone?) in stride. What the others said about using Cetaphil and moisturizer. I also think going easy on too many other skin products other than moisturizer and sunscreen (so basically any other makeup, any harsh scrubs, etc.) works out better in the long run even if it's sometimes a bit painful in the short run. Oh and you probably already do this but washing or changing out your pillowcase frequently helps too, I find (I am sadly lazy about changing the whole set of sheets since that requires a load of its own but the pillowcase can be tossed in with the light colord normal clothes load).
